Residents of Ile Igbon, a suburb of Ibadan located in the Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, gathered in large numbers for a significant medical outreach event. The Adunbarin Family Circle Foundation organized this initiative, which aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the local community. The event attracted numerous beneficiaries, including children and the elderly, who received free medical attention.
During the program on Monday, the foundation’s founder shared insights about the motivation behind the initiative. He emphasized that the foundation was established with a deep commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society. “It was founded to bring succour to the downtrodden in society,” he stated. He also mentioned that he worked alongside like-minded friends to realize this vision.
Hakeem Moshood, the President of the association, encouraged residents to make the most of the opportunity provided by the outreach. He urged attendees to take full advantage of the free medical services available during the event.
Prof. Kayode Ogundoyin, the Head of the Medical Team from the Paediatric Department at University College Hospital, Ibadan, highlighted the importance of prioritizing health. He advised residents to seek early medical attention, warning that neglecting minor ailments could lead to serious complications. “People should always attach special attention to their health so that a small sickness will not become an unmanageable problem,” he said.
Impact of the Outreach
At the conclusion of the event, approximately 90 adults were attended to, while 23 individuals with severe health conditions were referred to government hospitals within the Ibadan metropolis for further treatment. Additionally, at least 102 children were dewormed during the outreach, as part of broader efforts to improve child health in the community.
The traditional ruler of the town and the Ashipa, Chief Akinro Ibrahim, praised the foundation for its intervention. He described the organization as “a God-sent to the town,” while offering prayers for its continued growth and impact.
