Alan Carr Delivers Cryptic Warning to New “Traitors” Contestants
The highly anticipated fourth season of the hit reality series, The Traitors, is set to premiere with a mysterious message from a familiar face. In a first-look teaser, Celebrity Traitors champion Alan Carr makes a spectral appearance, delivering a cryptic warning to the fresh batch of contestants braving the treacherous halls of the Traitors’ castle.

Clad in the iconic green robe and wielding a lantern, Carr navigates the dimly lit corridors of the castle. He is seen picking up a note, which he then reads aloud. “Dear new traitors, look after the place, won’t you? Because you’ll never guess what Claudia’s got planned this time. It’s big,” he states, a mischievous glint in his eye. He concludes his message with a chilling “Good luck, you’re definitely gonna need it.” The comedian, 49, then seals the letter with a red wax stamp before departing with an ominous cackle into the darkness.

The clip announced that the new season would kick off on BBC One on January 1st. Accompanying the teaser, a caption read: “It’s time for #AlanCarr to pass the cloak… #TheTraitors #Traitors #ClaudiaWinkleman. Get them before they get you. 22 strangers, one castle, £120k – Claudia Winkleman hosts the ultimate reality game of trust and treachery. Let the mind games begin.”
Fans immediately flooded the comments section with their enthusiasm. Exclamations like “Let’s gooooooooooo!!!!” and “Best show on TV” filled the digital space. Another fan expressed their excitement, noting, “On New Year’s Day as wellll I’m so stoked!”
A New Season of Deception and Intrigue
This upcoming fourth season promises to continue the legacy of the acclaimed reality series, which has already spawned three successful regular seasons and a popular celebrity spin-off earlier this year. The show is renowned for its intense psychological gameplay, where a group of “Faithful” contestants must identify and banish the secretly appointed “Traitors” among them to secure a substantial cash prize.
Claudia Winkleman will once again take the helm as host, guiding the 22 new players through a series of challenges designed to test their mettle, sow seeds of doubt, and foster deep-seated suspicion. The game is set to unfold over 12 one-hour episodes, commencing on New Year’s Day at 8pm on BBC One. A second episode will follow promptly on January 2nd.

The core premise remains: 22 individuals will be pitted against each other in a high-stakes battle of wits. The Faithfuls’ objective is to unmask the Traitors before they can be “murdered” and eliminated from the game. All the while, the Traitors work to deceive the Faithfuls and maintain their secret identities. The ultimate goal for the remaining players is to claim a share of the up-to £120,000 prize fund.
The BBC has assured viewers that this season will be packed with “more twists, turns, secrets, deception, banishments and of course, murders aplenty.”
The Return of “The Traitors: Uncloaked”
Adding to the excitement, The Traitors: Uncloaked, the official companion show, will also be making a comeback. The first episode of Uncloaked will air on BBC Two immediately after the main show concludes. Subsequently, the spin-off will shift to BBC One for its remaining episodes, including the second and third instalments, broadcasting in a prime-time slot.
Host Ed Gamble will be joined by a rotating cast of celebrity guests and former contestants to dissect the week’s dramatic events, offering their insights and reactions to the unfolding drama within the castle walls.
“Celebrity Traitors” Secures Second Season
The success of the series has been further amplified by the confirmation of a second season for Celebrity Traitors. This news comes just days after the record-breaking first season of the celebrity edition drew over 14 million viewers, captivated by Alan Carr’s triumphant win.

The Celebrity Traitors spin-off, which debuted in October with a star-studded cast, proved to be a significant hit. While rumours of a renewal had been circulating, the broadcaster has now officially greenlit a second season, slated for release in 2026. Claudia Winkleman is confirmed to return as host, ready to preside over another group of famous faces as they navigate the complex game of trust and betrayal. Brand new episodes of the Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked spin-off will also return to BBC Two and BBC Sounds.
The enduring appeal of The Traitors lies in its ability to tap into fundamental human psychology, exploring themes of loyalty, suspicion, and the art of deception in a compelling and entertaining format. With a new season on the horizon and the confirmation of further celebrity editions, the game of trust and treachery shows no signs of slowing down.
