Paris Crowned World’s Ultimate Luxury Living Destination
The quest for the ultimate city for a lavish lifestyle has concluded, with Paris emerging as the undisputed champion. The French capital, long synonymous with romance and opulence, has secured the top spot in a comprehensive study evaluating wealth and lifestyle indicators. This prestigious ranking highlights cities that excel in providing premium amenities and experiences for their affluent residents and visitors.
The research meticulously analysed six key metrics: the density of millionaires and billionaires relative to the population, the concentration of fine dining establishments, the availability of five-star hotels, the prevalence of luxury retail outlets, and the number of casinos, all measured per square kilometre. These factors were then amalgamated into a singular “Luxury Score” to objectively rank global cities.
Paris distinguished itself with an exceptional density of high-end culinary experiences, boasting nearly 834 fine dining restaurants per 100 km². This figure far surpasses any other city evaluated, solidifying its reputation as a gastronomic paradise.

Beyond its culinary prowess, Paris also offers a substantial concentration of luxury accommodation, with 142 five-star hotels per 100 km². The city further enhances its allure with up to 10 casinos, providing diverse entertainment options for its discerning clientele.
Melbourne and Zurich Follow Closely
Securing the second position is the vibrant Australian city of Melbourne. It is home to an impressive 94,000 millionaires, who have access to over 100 elite dining establishments scattered across the city. Melbourne also boasts a high density of world-class hotels, with 125 five-star properties, complemented by 143 luxury retail stores, offering ample opportunities for high-end shopping.
Third on the list is Zurich, a city that attracts a significant number of millionaires. Remarkably, nearly one in every five residents in Zurich possesses a net worth in the seven figures, underscoring its status as a preeminent global hub for wealth management. The city caters to its affluent populace with a sophisticated culinary scene, featuring 150 restaurants offering high-end dining experiences.
Miami and Milan Round Out the Top Tier
Following Zurich is Miami, a city that presents a compelling case for luxury living. While its millionaire density is comparable to Paris, Miami distinguishes itself with a significantly higher per capita number of billionaires, standing at 37. This influx of ultra-wealthy individuals fuels a robust luxury market, with over 120 fine dining options and approximately 40 upscale retail stores catering to their sophisticated tastes.

Milan, the undisputed capital of Italian fashion, claims the fifth spot. The city rivals Paris in its fine dining offerings, with 193 upscale restaurants serving a more concentrated community of 82,000 millionaires.
