A shocking incident unfolded in Willesden, north-west London, where a 25-year-old man is accused of fatally stabbing his own mother in broad daylight, with witnesses reportedly seeing the attack occur in front of unsuspecting bus passengers. The man, identified as Najiib Raytaan, is accused of murdering his 50-year-old mother, Amaal Raytaan. According to details presented in court, the tragic events began after Amaal visited her son’s home in Willesden. Shortly after her arrival, it is alleged that she fled the property in distress, reportedly banging on neighbours’ doors for help.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that Najiib pursued his mother on an e-scooter, armed with a large knife. The chase culminated on Pound Lane, where it is claimed Najiib caught up to Amaal and inflicted a fatal stab wound to her back. The horrific scene reportedly unfolded in full view of several bus passengers, many of whom immediately contacted emergency services.
Emergency Response and Fatal Outcome
Upon receiving the emergency calls around 4pm, police officers and paramedics were dispatched to Pound Lane. They found Amaal Raytaan with severe injuries. Despite the swift and dedicated efforts of the first responders, she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene at 4:34pm.
The Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Following the incident, Najiib Raytaan reportedly fled the scene on his e-scooter. He was apprehended by authorities around 8am the following day, Monday, after returning to his flat on Harlesden Road. He was subsequently charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in public.
