The Plateau State Government has once again emphasized its prohibition on commercial motorcycle operators, commonly referred to as okada, within the Greater Jos Master Plan area. This decision follows a tragic incident that occurred on Sunday in the Angwa Rukuba community, where gunmen attacked and killed 27 people. “The ban on commercial motorcycles in Jos and Bukuru, which was initially introduced in 2012 under the Greater Jos Master Plan, is still in effect and actively enforced,” the statement noted.

Additionally, the hours of operation for tricycle riders (known locally as keke) within the Jos and Bukuru metropolis have not changed. These riders are permitted to operate between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm daily.
