Denise Richards’ Estranged Husband Faces Six-Figure Default Judgment in Fraud Lawsuit
Aaron Phypers, the estranged husband of actress Denise Richards, has been ordered by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to pay a substantial sum of approximately $160,000. This significant default judgment was granted after Phypers failed to formally respond to a fraud lawsuit filed against him by Rupert Perry, a widower. The ruling comes amidst Phypers’ ongoing and contentious divorce proceedings with Richards.
The lawsuit stems from allegations made by Perry concerning the services provided by Phypers at his Malibu wellness centre, Quantum 360. Perry’s late wife, Elina Katsioula-Beall, was a client of Phypers. She sought alternative treatments at his centre in June 2023, after traditional medical treatments for her sarcoma cancer had not yielded the desired results.
Allegations of Misleading Cancer Treatment
According to Perry’s legal filing, Phypers, who is described as a practitioner of ‘frequency medicine,’ allegedly assured Katsioula-Beall that the stem cell treatments offered at his facility could either cure her cancer or, at the very least, make her condition more manageable. Perry claims Phypers boasted a remarkable 98 percent success rate for these treatments and promised a 50 percent refund should the therapy prove unsuccessful.

However, the treatment reportedly did not achieve the promised outcomes. Perry’s lawsuit details that his wife subsequently requested a refund of $63,000, which represented half of the amount she had paid for the treatment. Phypers allegedly failed to honour these refund requests. Tragically, his alleged evasiveness regarding the refund continued even after Katsioula-Beall’s passing in May 2024. The lawsuit was formally lodged against Phypers in November 2024, citing fraud and breach of contract.
Quantum 360 Ceases Operations
Adding to the narrative, Phypers’ holistic healing centre, Quantum 360, reportedly ceased its operations and closed its doors in early 2025. This closure further complicates the situation for clients and creditors, including Mr. Perry.
Phypers and Richards’ Ongoing Legal Battles
The default judgment against Phypers is occurring concurrently with the highly acrimonious divorce proceedings between him and Denise Richards, 55. The couple, who separated in July 2024, have been embroiled in a complex legal battle involving disputes over finances and property, as well as mutual allegations of domestic violence.

Richards has previously been granted a five-year restraining order that mandates Phypers to remain at least 100 yards away from her. Despite the restraining order, court appearances have been necessary for both parties to address various legal matters.
Financial Orders in the Divorce Proceedings
In a recent court session on February 26, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was ordered to contribute financially to Phypers’ divorce proceedings. This includes covering a portion of his attorney fees and, notably, paying him temporary spousal support.
According to reports, Richards is required to pay $25,000 towards Phypers’ legal costs in their divorce case. Additionally, a sum of $5,000 has been allocated to a forensic accountant, as detailed by People magazine.
The court has stipulated a structured payment plan for these financial obligations, with Richards mandated to pay $10,000 per month for the months of March, April, and May in 2026.
Furthermore, Richards has been ordered to provide Phypers with temporary spousal support amounting to $5,000 per month. This support is set to commence on March 5, 2026, and will continue on a monthly basis until further court directives are issued.
Denise Richards Discusses Recent Facelift
In other recent news, Denise Richards has been candid about a cosmetic procedure she underwent. Speaking with Allure magazine, the actress revealed that she had a facelift in June 2025. Richards expressed her motivations for the surgery, stating, “I wanted to put things back up, where they were before.” She admitted to feeling terrified about the procedure, given her long tenure in the public eye since her twenties. “Being in the public eye since my 20s, people know what I look like – a facelift is not something that I could hide,” she explained. Richards described the results as dramatic, noting, “It is night and day. It’s shocking, actually.”
