News Summary:

  • Diwu Moro in Lambu District, Bima, is a panoramic dam often compared to Ranu Kumbolo and has now become a popular natural tourist destination.
  • Easy access, suitable for camping, with the main attractions being beautiful morning mist and a tranquil atmosphere amidst green hills.

, BIMA –Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), holds a beautiful destination that is starting to attract attention, namely Diwu Moro.

Located in Lambu District, this destination is often compared to the iconic Ranu Kumbolo Lake on Mount Semeru due to its unique and captivating landscape.

Although Diwu Moro is essentially a dam or reservoir that functions to irrigate local residents’ farms, its primary function is now alongside its tourist attraction.

This dam is surrounded by clusters of hills and collects rainwater in the central part of the valley.

The area around the dam is a plain covered with green grass, creating a perfect setting to enjoy the natural beauty.

This location was initially discovered and promoted by local youth and quickly became a favorite, especially among outdoor enthusiasts.

One of the advantages of Diwu Moro is its relatively easy road access. Visitors can reach it by both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.

This ease of access makes Diwu Moro an ideal location for camping.

Visitors who have stayed there often share their beautiful experiences, especially in the morning.

The thin mist that blankets the lake’s surface in the morning creates a very dramatic and beautiful backdrop for photos, resulting in a peaceful and calming atmosphere.

To reach Diwu Moro from the center of Bima City, the travel time required is around two hours. The good news is that the road leading to this tourist attraction is paved with smooth hotmix asphalt.

Despite the dam’s recognized enduring beauty and uniqueness, visitors have expressed concerns about the environmental conditions in its surroundings.

A number of tourists regret that the hills surrounding Diwu Moro are starting to look bare.

This condition is feared to sustainably affect the dam’s water discharge and damage the unique ecosystem that exists.

Therefore, there is a strong call to the community and visitors to jointly preserve the natural beauty of Diwu Moro as a long-term tourism investment for Bima Regency.

Visitors are advised to bring their own food and drinks, and most importantly, to not leave any trash behind in order to preserve the environment.
