A Journey of Discovery and Heartbreak
After months of ups and downs, Scott McCristal from Married At First Sight is finally free. During the explosive final dinner party, the 33-year-old Gold Coast-based groom delivered a powerful speech to his on-screen wife, Gia Fleur, before throwing his wedding band onto the table and walking out of the building and the experiment.
Scott recently sat down for an exclusive interview, where he shared his raw emotions and reflections on the experience. He spoke candidly about the highs and lows, revealing the deep emotional impact it had on him.
Emotional Reflections
Scott described watching the final dinner party episode as “pretty hectic.” He was joined by friends who helped him process the intense emotions. “Honestly, watching it back, I don’t regret anything,” he said. “I’ve learned a lot. I wish I woke up a lot earlier knowing someone was just fully manipulating me the whole time.”
He felt that Gia had lied to him throughout the experiment. “I wish I was more self-aware because I was so into it. And then watching that very last episode last night I was just like, ‘Wow.’ I feel like that just made me feel like she’d lied to me the whole time.”
Red Flags and Behavioral Patterns
Scott pointed out several red flags that he noticed early on. “There were so many little things along the way that I would just take note of and I was thinking, ‘Is this really low? Could I live with this?’” One example was when Gia lied about crying on the phone to her mother and daughter, while in reality, she was at the pub getting drunk with Bec.
He also mentioned feeling controlled, such as not being able to take a selfie in the gym or looking at someone in the street without her criticism. “For example, me and Stella have a good relationship, she’s a good friend of mine and if I ever looked at her a certain way or spoke to her, she would go off at me. Those behavioral patterns are just unacceptable.”

Confrontation and Reactions
After leaving the dinner party, Gia claimed their relationship had been a “showmance” and that Scott used her for sex. “Obviously that’s another lie too. Like it’s just constant lying. Everything that comes out of her mouth is just bull***t. I don’t believe a single word she says.”
Scott was shocked by the footage of Gia talking to Bec in the bathroom stall. “It’s disgusting. It’s embarrassing. I’m actually speechless.”
Relationships and Trust Issues
Scott revealed that he doesn’t trust Bec. “She’s WhatsApped me a couple times. She’s obviously trying to amend a friendship with me. But no, that’s not happening. She was never invited on my mates yacht. She never will be.”

The Final Decision
Before the dinner party, both Scott and Gia were packing their bags to leave the experiment. However, Gia claimed that producers influenced Scott to stay. “No one forced me [to stay]. I can tell you that right now. I stayed because something in my gut told me not to go.”
Scott explained that after a conversation about their future, he realized Gia was hiding something. “The moment I put my foot down saying I’m not leaving, she just cracked it and left.”
Gia’s Claims and Public Persona
Gia made some explosive claims during After The Dinner Party, stating that Scott called her fat. “I never called her fat. Never in my life. She would ask me, ‘Can you tell me I’m hot? Can you tell me I’m sexy? Can you tell me I’m beautiful?’ every day and I always reassured her, telling her she looked beautiful.”

Moving On
Gia later took some accountability, claiming she broke Scott and felt sorry for that. “I still don’t believe her. Because look at the stuff she’s doing on Instagram saying, I can’t read write or spell. If she was genuinely sorry, she wouldn’t be going rogue about me.”
After splitting, Gia moved to the Gold Coast to be close to Scott. “She moved up and gave me a call asking if we could catch up for a coffee because the reunion was coming up. I was like, ‘Look, I don’t want any bad blood. I’ll get a coffee with you if we can be amicable, but that is it.’”

Looking Ahead
Scott confirmed he is currently single and focusing on his business. “I’m single. I’m just focusing on my business and my life.”
When asked if he would ever do MAFS again, Scott replied, “Not with a woman like that. If I knew I’d have a woman like Stella and I knew I was going to have a forever partner, I’d think about it. But I really can’t say I’d do it again considering what I experienced.”
Final Thoughts
Scott has no intention of reconnecting with Gia. “She tried to call me once ages ago and I ignored the call. That was it. I’ll never speak to that woman again, and I said to production, don’t ever let me cross paths with that woman again.”
His family also has strong opinions about Gia. “They have nothing good to say about her. They’ve been checking in because they didn’t realize how badly she was treating me. My parents think… they’re all just swear words, that’s all I can say.”
