An exciting match will be presented at Kie Raha Stadium, Ternate, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, when Persib Bandung faces a tough challenge from Malut United in a postponed match of Super League 2025/26 week 12.
Despite its postponed status, this match is predicted to remain intense and emotional, especially for some Malut United players who previously led Persib Bandung to win Liga 1 2024/25.
Several big names now in Malut United’s uniform such as Tyronne del Pino, Ciro Alves, David da Silva, and Gustavo Franca are certainly in the spotlight.
Not to be outdone, former Persib Bandung player Frets Listanto Butuan and loan player Muhammad Dimas Drajad also joined the home team.
Their presence is predicted to add emotional tension, as well as challenges for Persib Bandung.
Despite facing their former player, Persib Bandung arrives in Ternate with a realistic attitude.
Coach Bojan Hodak emphasized that his team is focused on achieving victory to move up to second place in the temporary standings.
However, Hodak also realizes the heavy challenges his team faces. Besides the tight schedule due to two postponed matches and competing in the AFC Champions League Two, the long journey from Bandung to Ternate is sure to drain the players’ energy.
For that, player rotation becomes the main strategy. “We can rotate players because some players did not play from the first minute in the last match against Bangkok United. We certainly want a positive result from Ternate,” said Hodak, quoted from the persib.co.id website.
The Croatian coach is confident that the evenly distributed quality in his squad will help them face Malut United, despite his absence from the sidelines due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
The task of leading the match later will be handled by assistant coach Igor Tolic, who has been Hodak’s right-hand man in strategic matters.
“We know some of the names here were part of the Persib squad when they won the championship last season, but they have a different coach now. We will see the results tomorrow,” explained Tolic.
From the Malut United side, coach Hendri Susilo emphasized that his team is ready to defend their pride at home. “This is a highly anticipated match. Preparations have been more than sufficient, and all players are enthusiastic. We hope to steal points from Persib Bandung,” Hendri concluded.
