Ant McPartlin Trades London Luxury for Surrey Serenity in £10 Million Property Move
Television presenter Ant McPartlin, a household name synonymous with some of the UK’s most popular entertainment shows, has reportedly made a significant lifestyle change, trading his London abode for a sprawling mansion in the affluent county of Surrey. This move sees the millionaire star settling into a picturesque village, a far cry from the bustling capital.
Sources reveal that McPartlin, 50, has acquired a substantial new-build property on an exclusive street in Surrey. The transaction is understood to have set a new benchmark for the area, with the price tag exceeding a staggering £10 million. The acquisition alone incurred over £1 million in stamp duty, highlighting the scale of the investment.
This relocation follows the sale of McPartlin’s previous luxury residence in Wimbledon, south-west London, which he put on the market approximately two months ago. The sale of the Wimbledon home was reportedly linked to a planning dispute with his neighbours.
Locals in the unnamed Surrey village are abuzz with the news of McPartlin’s arrival. One resident commented that the sale is believed to be a record for the locality and has become the subject of much village gossip. The property itself is described as a prime private estate, boasting extensive grounds spanning an acre, which should provide ample space and privacy, potentially averting any future neighbourly disagreements.
A Golden Handcuffs Deal Secures Future
McPartlin’s financial future appears secure, with reports indicating he has recently inked a lucrative £30 million “golden handcuffs” deal with his long-time television partner and close friend, Declan Donnelly. This substantial contract with ITV is set to keep the popular duo on screen for the foreseeable future.
Dec Donnelly has also been making headlines for his own property ventures, reportedly purchasing his third home on the same London street.
New Chapter with Family in Surrey
The move to Surrey marks a new chapter for McPartlin, who recently welcomed his first child with his second wife, Anne-Marie Corbett, 47. Their son, Wilder, was born just over 18 months ago. The celebrity enclave of Surrey is expected to offer a welcoming environment for the growing family.
Villagers have observed McPartlin and Corbett out and about with their son. One local noted that McPartlin appears content and is always friendly when recognised, but expressed confidence that he would not face excessive attention. The area is accustomed to a celebrity presence, with many well-known figures frequenting local establishments.

The Wimbledon Home and Past Challenges
The sale of McPartlin’s Wimbledon property came in the wake of a planning dispute, although he has previously denied that the row was the sole reason for his move. The controversy centred on McPartlin’s request to fell six mature trees in his garden. Locals had voiced strong objections, describing the proposal as being based on a “personal whim.” Their complaints arose after the local council granted permission for the landscaping project, despite the presence of a tree preservation order.
McPartlin had purchased the three-storey Wimbledon residence for £6 million in 2019. He moved into the property with Anne-Marie Corbett, having previously resided next door to Declan Donnelly in Chiswick, west London. The couple invested a considerable sum, described as “hundreds of thousands,” in renovations, adding two extensions and a swimming pool complete with Victorian-style changing rooms.

The acquisition of the Wimbledon house followed a period of personal difficulty for McPartlin. He had grappled with a painkiller addiction, stemming from a botched knee operation, and issues with alcohol, which at one point threatened to derail his highly successful career.
In 2017, he undertook a two-month stint in rehab, followed by another period of treatment the subsequent year after a car crash where he was found to be more than twice the legal alcohol limit. Earlier in 2018, it was publicly confirmed that he had separated from his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong.
McPartlin took an extended break from his television commitments. He has openly credited Anne-Marie Corbett, his former personal assistant whom he married in 2021, with playing a pivotal role in helping him turn his life around. McPartlin is also a stepfather to Corbett’s teenage daughters, Daisy and Poppy. The birth of his son, Wilder, in May 2024 was a source of immense joy for him, marking his first experience of fatherhood.
