A significant development has emerged with the FBI announcing that a glove found approximately two miles from Ms. Guthrie’s Arizona home could potentially match those worn by an “armed” individual captured on surveillance footage outside her residence on the morning she vanished.
The FBI recently released new, compelling images and video footage obtained from Ms. Guthrie’s doorbell camera. These visuals depict a suspect, whose face was concealed by a ski mask and who was wearing gloves, approaching her front door. Law enforcement officials have stated that the individual was armed and appeared to be tampering with the camera itself.
The glove in question, believed by the agency to be a potential match for those worn by the suspect, has been dispatched for DNA testing. While preliminary results have been received by investigators, official confirmation is still pending, according to reports. The FBI has also noted that a total of around 16 gloves were discovered in the vicinity of Ms. Guthrie’s residence. Adding to the urgency of the situation, the FBI announced a substantial new reward of $100,000 for any information that could lead to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of any individuals involved in her disappearance.
This announcement followed a series of law enforcement operations conducted in the Tucson area on the Friday prior, directly related to Ms. Guthrie’s vanishing. Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence located about two miles from Ms. Guthrie’s home on Friday night. A spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the warrant was issued based on a specific lead. No arrests were made in connection with this search.
Simultaneously, law enforcement officials carried out a separate traffic stop in the vicinity of Ms. Guthrie’s home. While an individual was questioned during this stop, no arrests were made, according to the sheriff’s department spokesperson.

“Maybe it’s an hour from now,” Sheriff Nanos stated on Friday. “Maybe it’s weeks or months or years from now. But we won’t quit. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy.”
The disappearance of Ms. Guthrie has mobilised a significant search operation, involving a collaborative effort between state and federal law enforcement agencies.
Urgent Health Concerns and Family’s Hope
The urgency of the search is underscored by Ms. Guthrie’s reliance on daily medication. Sheriff Nanos has previously highlighted that a failure to take her medication could have “fatal” consequences. Furthermore, during her disappearance, police also flagged that Ms. Guthrie has a history of high blood pressure, uses a pacemaker, and has cardiac issues, according to 911 dispatch audio.
Savannah Guthrie has publicly expressed her unwavering belief that her mother is still alive. The “Today” show anchor recently shared a touching video of her mother on Instagram, accompanied by the poignant caption, “We will never give up on her.”
She has also shared the footage of the masked man, appealing to the public for any information that could help identify him. “Someone out there recognizes this person. We believe she is still out there. Bring her home,” she wrote on Instagram.
