NRL Superstar’s Heartfelt Gift and Parenting Wisdom for Today Show Host
Melbourne Storm and Queensland Maroons playmaker Cameron Munster recently made a special appearance on the Today show, bringing not only well wishes but also a thoughtful gift and some candid parenting advice for co-host Sarah Abo. Abo, who recently announced her pregnancy with husband Cyrus Moran, received a touching gesture from the NRL star, who is himself a father of three.
The emotional announcement of Abo’s pregnancy, made on-air last week, has been met with widespread joy. Munster, a seasoned father, shared his own experiences, offering Abo a blend of humour and genuine insight into the ups and downs of parenthood.
“Sarah, look, just enjoy the ride, it’s a rollercoaster,” Munster advised, his words resonating with the realities of raising a child. “When you think you’ve got everything right, something hits you right in the face.” This candid observation highlights the unpredictable yet rewarding nature of the parenting journey.

Adding a touch of team spirit to the occasion, Munster, alongside fellow Today show personality Danika Mason, presented Abo with an adorable miniature Melbourne Storm playing kit for her soon-to-arrive son. “You guys have very kindly gifted a new present to the family,” Mason commented, presenting the tiny jersey. “Little Abo has a brand new outfit.” This thoughtful gift playfully suggests the little one might be destined for a future in rugby league, following in the footsteps of his mother’s on-air colleague.

Beyond the team colours, Munster also offered a few humorous suggestions for baby names. “I know you are having a boy, and I think a beautiful name would be either ‘Cameron’ or maybe even ‘Munster’ as a first name,” he quipped, drawing a laugh from the studio. However, he quickly followed this with sincere praise for parenthood. “Having a first child is the best thing you ever can do,” he stated emphatically. “I know Sarah has had some great times being a producer and person on the panel. I’ve done some great things in my life with footy and I think the best thing I’ve ever done was have a child. Congratulations Sarah.”
Sarah Abo and her husband, Cyrus Moran, who have been married since 2012, have openly shared that their path to parenthood was not without its challenges. While overjoyed with the news of their impending arrival, Abo conceded the journey had been more arduous than anticipated. “It’s obviously very happy news and everything… It hasn’t been the easiest journey to get here,” she revealed last week. “It’s not as easy as you sometimes think that pregnancy will be.”

Munster’s appearance underscores the camaraderie and support that can exist between individuals from different professional spheres, especially when celebrating significant life milestones. His genuine warmth and willingness to share his personal insights offered a comforting and encouraging moment for Abo as she embarks on this new chapter. The combination of a thoughtful gift and practical, albeit humorous, advice from a seasoned father like Munster provided a memorable and supportive send-off for the expectant mother as she prepares for the arrival of her first child. The sporting world, it seems, has a soft spot for celebrating family milestones, with Munster embodying this supportive spirit.
