In light of the suspension, the party has appointed the Deputy Chairman, Adedeji Abiodun, to serve as the Acting State Chairman. He will hold this position until the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.

The statement continued, highlighting the gravity of the situation: “After exhaustive deliberations and careful consideration of the gravity of the issues presented, the State Executive Committee unanimously passed a Vote of No Confidence in Otunba Dr Femi Soluade. The Vote of No Confidence was duly signed by all Local Government Chairmen present and all members of the State Executive Committee, reflecting the collective and unanimous position of the party leadership at both state and local government levels.”
The committee specifically addressed the incident at the Intercontinental Hotel: “The committee particularly condemns in strong terms the incident of Saturday, 14th February, 2026, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Ibara, where a peaceful gathering was ongoing for the public declaration of the governorship aspiration of H.E. Jimi Lawal. The state chairman arrived at the venue, accompanied by armed individuals, disrupted the event and caused serious chaos.”
