Redcastle Reef Delivers Stellar Gold Grades, Paving Way for Resource Update
Western Australia’s Redcastle Reef deposit is buzzing with excitement following the completion of a comprehensive grade control drilling program, which has unveiled a series of exceptional gold results. This latest batch of assays not only validates the existing geological model but also strengthens the case for a potential update to the project’s mineral resource estimate.
A total of 23 drill holes within the program have returned grades exceeding 20 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold, with some spectacular intersections highlighting the presence of high-grade gold shoots. The final set of results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling has been particularly impressive, with one hole assaying a remarkable 1 metre at 397 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from a depth of 51 metres. This standout result was part of a broader intersection of 4 metres at 100.5 g/t of gold from 50 metres.
These exceptionally high-grade intercepts are indicative of coarse, “nuggety” gold, a characteristic that can significantly impact the economics of a mining operation. The widespread occurrence of such high-grade zones, with 23 individual holes demonstrating grades above 20 g/t, underscores the extensive distribution of this coarse gold within the Redcastle Reef deposit.
Raymond Shaw, Chair of Redcastle Resources (ASX:RC1), expressed his confidence in the drilling outcomes. “The density of drilling now achieved has significantly improved the definition of the mineralised lodes and confirms the presence of coherent higher-grade mineralised shoots within the broader coarse gold system,” Shaw stated. He further elaborated that with the complete grade control dataset now in hand, the company is well-positioned to advance detailed geological interpretation, mine planning, and the evaluation of potential mining activities, contingent upon necessary approvals and commercial decisions.
Key Assay Highlights from the Final Batch:
- 7 metres at 5.88 g/t Au from 35 metres, including a significant 1 metre at 34.4 g/t from 40 metres.
- 10 metres at 15.19 g/t Au from 17 metres, featuring a standout 1 metre at 121 g/t from 19 metres.
- 6 metres at 17.97 g/t Au from 6 metres, containing a high-grade 1 metre at 95.5 g/t from 7 metres.
- 7 metres at 10.76 g/t Au from 10 metres, including 1 metre at 57.4 g/t from 12 metres.
- 7 metres at 7.7 g/t Au from 9 metres, with a notable 1 metre at 47.2 g/t from 12 metres.
- 7 metres at 5.9 g/t Au from 9 metres, including 1 metre at 26.2 g/t from 10 metres.
These new results are set to be integrated into a revitalised geological model for the Redcastle Reef deposit. This updated model is expected to provide a robust foundation for a potential revision of the deposit’s mineral resource estimate, reflecting the enhanced understanding of the gold mineralisation.
Redcastle Resources conducted a total of 327 RC holes across the deposit, collectively totalling 13,539 metres. The drilling was strategically spaced on an 8-metre by 6-metre grid over the Redcastle Reef gold system. The consistency of the results across multiple adjacent drill holes demonstrates a high level of spatial correlation, indicating strong continuity of grade throughout the mineralised zones.
The company’s interpretation of these findings points towards a coherent and continuous gold lode position, which aligns perfectly with and supports its current geological interpretation and modelling efforts.
Ongoing Exploration and Development Activities:
Redcastle’s field activities are continuing unabated. Selected exploration drill holes are currently being drilled within the M39/318 tenement to pinpoint suitable locations for the placement of mined waste material. Concurrently, infill RC drilling has commenced at the Queen Alexandra (QA) prospect, marking the commencement of the next phase of systematic resource delineation at that significant gold occurrence. These parallel efforts highlight Redcastle’s commitment to advancing its exploration and development pipeline across its project portfolio.
