Elevating Everyday Gatherings: Saardé’s ‘For The Way We Gather’ Ceramic Collection
In a world where shared experiences are becoming increasingly precious, the way we present our meals and host our guests takes on new significance. Enter Saardé, a design-led lifestyle brand that has unveiled its latest ceramic collection, aptly named ‘For The Way We Gather’. Drawing inspiration from the sun-drenched allure of Mediterranean summer get-togethers, this new range promises to transform any dining occasion, from casual brunches to more formal affairs, into a memorable event.
Verity Kizek, co-founder of Saardé with her husband Shenol since 2018, highlights the emotional resonance behind the collection. “Moments of togetherness feel increasingly meaningful these days,” she explains. “Having thoughtful pieces that feel both elevated and unfussy can make those moments even more special.” This philosophy underpins Saardé’s broader mission to create beautiful, everyday items, encompassing homewares, bed linen, skincare, and fragrances.

The couple’s passion for travel consistently fuels their creative output. Previous collections have drawn inspiration from diverse cultures, including glassware that evokes the rich mythology of Greece and fragrances that capture Japan’s serene and ceremonial spirit. Their recent journey to Portugal proved particularly influential for the ‘For The Way We Gather’ collection.
“Earlier this year, Shenol and I travelled to Portugal and met many makers in person,” Verity recounts. “Portugal has a rich heritage in ceramics, with generations of expertise behind the craft. At the same time, many producers there are innovating, particularly around sustainability, material reuse, and responsible energy and water use.” This commitment to conscious creation is evident in the new ceramic range.
The ‘For The Way We Gather’ collection is available in three distinct colourways, each designed to evoke a specific mood and aesthetic. One standout shade is ‘Sunfleck’, a rich, mottled ochre that Verity likens to the warmth of sunflowers, the sweetness of honey, and the deep glow of amber. This particular hue is achieved through a meticulous hand-finishing process.
Craftsmanship and Uniqueness
“Each piece is individually flecked by hand using a reactive glaze,” Verity elaborates on the artisanal approach. “During high-temperature firing, the glaze interacts with the clay and kiln atmosphere, creating variations in colour and texture – no two pieces are ever quite the same.” This inherent uniqueness ensures that every item in the collection is a work of art in its own right, adding a personal touch to any table setting.
The collection boasts an impressive array of pieces designed for both aesthetic appeal and practical utility. From delicate coffee and tea cups perfect for a morning brew to robust dinnerware that can withstand the rigours of everyday use, and elegant jugs and servingware ideal for sharing platters, the range covers all bases.

Despite the collection’s inherent beauty, Saardé remains steadfast in its commitment to functionality. Verity emphasises the brand’s core belief: “We strongly believe that design has the power to shape how we feel and how we connect with one another. We really hope people use these pieces every day.” This sentiment underscores the intention to create ceramics that are not just for special occasions but are integral to the fabric of daily life, enhancing both personal enjoyment and social interactions.
The ‘For The Way We Gather’ collection is more than just a set of tableware; it’s an invitation to slow down, savour the moment, and cherish the connections we forge over food and conversation. It embodies the spirit of thoughtful living, where even the simplest act of serving a meal can be an act of love and connection.
