The storm significantly impacted air travel, forcing more than 1,000 flight cancellations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina, a key hub for American Airlines. The severe cold led to the temporary closure of major theme parks in Orlando, including Disney World and Universal Studios. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park was scheduled to remain closed until Monday. The unusual freezing conditions posed a threat to Florida’s wildlife, with meteorologist Brandon Buckingham explaining to AccuWeather that “Green iguanas are sensitive to the cold and can become stunned when temperatures fall into the 40s and 30s.
