Jennifer Lopez Shares Memories of Her First Coachella Performance
Jennifer Lopez recently shared a heartfelt look back at her debut Coachella performance through an Instagram post. The 56-year-old superstar, known for her dynamic presence on and off the stage, took to social media to reflect on the experience.
On Saturday, she joined David Guetta on stage for a surprise rendition of their new song “Save Me Tonight.” This moment was captured in a video she shared, which highlighted the excitement of the event. She described it as part of her “happy era,” a phrase she has been using to express her current state of mind.
“The most fun day!!” she captioned the post. “Save Me Tonight with David live for the first time at MY FIRST COACHELLA was so special. My happy era is rewriting everything. Don’t ever stop surprising yourself.”
The video included footage from the festival, showing Lopez arriving in Indio, California, via private jet.

Her longtime vocal coach, Stevie Mackey, made a cameo appearance as they traveled to the festival together. During the event, Lopez dressed in a white, floral-patterned maxi dress paired with a wide-brimmed suede hat. She completed the desert-inspired look with chunky, brown leather boots and a shaggy white coat.
Later, she changed into a sparkly silver bodysuit and thigh-high, white stiletto boots covered in stones as she took the stage. Lopez began her performance in a hooded white fur coat and sunglasses before removing both, creating a more intimate experience for her fans.
Lopez has consistently emphasized that she is in her “happy era.” In a January social media post, she captioned a photo with the message: “Happy era energy.” This sentiment was echoed in a Nightline interview that aired on March 11, where she stated:
“I’m in my happy era. I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m free; I’m on my own. And it feels really good. I didn’t really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s – and even before that. I’ve always had boyfriends. There was always someone in my life, and so many things that I felt like were out of my control.”

This period of self-discovery comes more than one year after Lopez’s divorce from her fourth husband, Ben Affleck, was finalized. The couple rekindled their romance in 2021 after calling off their wedding nearly 20 years earlier in 2003. They married in 2022, but the actress filed for divorce on their two-year wedding anniversary in August 2024. The divorce was finalized in February 2025.
As she ended her string of Las Vegas shows at The Colosseum in March, Lopez reflected on the residency. “Last show tonight. Full heart,” she wrote to her 245 million Instagram followers. “To my band, my crew, my dancers, my background vocalists and every single fan who was part of the most incredible Happy Era, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.”
She added, “The best is yet to come.”
