Forrestania Resources Surpasses One Million Ounce Gold Milestone
Forrestania Resources (ASX:FRS) has achieved a significant milestone, pushing its global Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) past the one million ounce mark. This impressive feat has been driven by an updated MRE for the MacPhersons deposit, which has added a substantial 73,800 ounces of gold to the company’s overall holdings.
The company’s consolidated global MRE now stands at an impressive 25,695,000 tonnes, grading at 1.22 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold, yielding a total of 1,007,800 ounces. This growth is bolstered by the newly revised MacPhersons deposit MRE, which now encompasses 2 million tonnes at 1.15 g/t for 73,800 ounces of gold, calculated using a 0.5 g/t gold cut-off.
MacPhersons Deposit: A Strategic Addition to the Coolgardie Gold Hub
The MacPhersons deposit is a key component of Forrestania’s Coolgardie Gold Hub portfolio. Situated within the MacPhersons Reward project, it lies just 2.5 kilometres south of the historical MacPhersons Reward pit. This area boasts a proven track record of gold production, with Beacon Minerals having operated the MacPhersons Reward mine as its primary operation between October CY23 and February CY26. During that period, the mine yielded 28,604 ounces of gold at a grade of 1.29 g/t.
David Geraghty, Chairman of Forrestania Resources, expressed his enthusiasm for the strategic significance of the MacPhersons deposit. “MacPhersons complements our existing Coolgardie Hub portfolio, adding a mineral resource estimate of 73,800 ounce gold within an area with demonstrated mining history and strong geological potential,” he stated.
Geraghty further elaborated on the company’s strategic direction and the impact of this resource growth. “Together with our recent resource upgrades and acquisitions, this growing resource base strengthens our position as an emerging Australian gold company and provides a solid foundation from which to pursue future development opportunities and create long-term value for shareholders.”
He highlighted the importance of reaching the one million ounce benchmark. “Importantly, this update sees Forrestania surpass the one million ounce milestone, with our global JORC Mineral Resource now standing at 1,007,800 ounces of gold,” Geraghty said. “Reaching this benchmark through targeted M&A and focused resource development over the last twelve months is a remarkable achievement and reflects the continued execution of our growth strategy.”
A Growing Portfolio and Future Prospects
The MacPhersons gold project itself is well-positioned for future development, holding significant land tenure. It comprises:
- Five approved mining leases.
- Two pending mining leases.
- Two prospecting leases.
All of these are currently undergoing mining lease conversion applications, with an additional prospecting lease also pending.
Forrestania Resources is actively pursuing a strategy of expanding its operational footprint across key gold-producing regions in Western Australia. This strategic expansion is focused on:
- The Southern Cross region.
- The Eastern Goldfields.
- The Forrestania region.
