These snapshots depicted outings to ice cream shops, lively playground sessions, and joyful moments of imaginative play at home – all accompanied by beaming smiles. By releasing her anxieties, the author found herself more able to relax and enjoy her time away with her husband. Her five-year-old’s post-trip report confirmed that her mother had largely adhered to the established routines, with the sole exception of a slightly later bedtime on their last night together.
A Gift of Rest: Recognising Labour and Legacy
