Nicole da Silva Joins Home and Away Cast for the Second Time
Nicole da Silva, known for her roles in Beloved, Wentworth, and Doctor Doctor, is making a return to the iconic Australian soap Home and Away. This marks not only her second appearance on the show but also an exciting new chapter in her career. After months of secrecy, the Logie-winning actress has finally revealed that she will be playing the character Dr. Amelia Carlisle.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of such an iconic institution,” Nicole said in a statement. “The Home and Away team have been so welcoming, and I look forward to audiences meeting Amelia in the coming months.”
A Long-Awaited Return
Although the official announcement has just been made, whispers about Nicole’s involvement with Home and Away have been circulating for several months. According to Nicole, the hints began when fans spotted her on set during filming at Palm Beach.
“In the early days of filming up at Palm Beach, I had fans come out of the woodwork, and I’d hear my name being called out [while on set],” she shared. “I tried to avoid their questions and the cameras, but unfortunately, there were whispers going around.”
Despite her character’s name being revealed, Nicole says that details about her role are still under wraps. “It’s all a bit secret-squirrels, and an ‘in the cone of silence’ kind of situation,” she joked. “But all will be revealed soon — and I think audiences are going to get a real kick out of who I cross paths with in Summer Bay.”
A Pinch-Me Moment
In an interview with Stellar, Nicole shared that her first scene on set was with Ray Meagher, a beloved figure in the Home and Away universe. “It was a real pinch-me moment. I was like, ‘Oh, wow. I’m definitely in the Bay now. I’ve arrived.’”

A History with Home and Away
This isn’t Nicole’s first time in Summer Bay. In 2006, she appeared in a single episode as Jane Sims, a character who briefly dated Robbie (played by Jason Smith) during a camping trip with Kim (played by Chris Hemsworth). Their romance was cut short when Robbie received a call about his grandfather, Graham (played by Doug Scroope), suffering a heart attack.

What’s Next for Home and Away?
As the show continues to captivate audiences, recent spoilers have teased some dramatic developments. Fans can expect Tane to struggle with life in prison, while Alf and Brax are set to reunite. Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign for Home and Away star Alea O’Shea has raised over $78,000 amid her battle with brain cancer.
