McIlroy has been married to Erica Stoll since early 2017. The couple welcomed a daughter, Poppy, in 2020. Stoll, a former PGA of America office manager, met McIlroy through her job at the 2012 Ryder Cup. “Erica that week was always the one that was checking us in and out. She was there at transportation, so she was always in the car park over there,” McIlroy told Golf Channel about the time they met. At the time, McIlroy was dating tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, but the two broke up not long after.
In 2024, McIlroy and Stoll faced challenges in their relationship. After McIlroy filed for divorce in early 2024, the two reconnected in the middle of the year and announced they would remain married. Stoll was recently seen with McIlroy at the Par 3 Contest ahead of the Masters.

While his son is the star, Gerry is a golfer himself and was seen getting out on the course with Rory before the 2026 Masters.
