Sinitta’s Journey from Scaredy Cat to Champion
Sinitta, the 62-year-old singer known for her iconic hits like “So Macho,” has had a remarkable journey on the Australian version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. Her first appearance in 2011 left many viewers with vivid memories of her screams and fear as she faced the challenges of the jungle. However, in the latest season of the All Stars spin-off, Sinitta has shown a completely different side of herself, proving that she has come a long way.
In the first episode of the All Stars series, which aired on Monday, Sinitta was among the final arrivals during the challenge called Level Up. She and comedian Seann Walsh were tasked with grabbing stars 140ft above the ground, navigating a high ropes course similar to Go Ape. The challenge required them to clear obstacles without falling off, with the first to reach the other side and retrieve the star being crowned the winner.
Despite a slow start, where Seann gained an early lead, Sinitta turned things around and ultimately won the challenge. Her determination and speed across the final obstacles earned her the victory, marking the beginning of her redemption arc after her infamous 2011 performance.

Behind the Scenes: Sinitta’s Perspective
Sinitta recently shared some insights into her 2011 experience on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! during an appearance on This Morning. She revealed that she initially believed the show wasn’t real and thought she would be given special treatment, such as a McDonald’s at the end of her time on the show. However, she quickly learned that the reality of the jungle was far more challenging than she anticipated.
She explained, ‘I did actually think, you know I was on X Factor and I thought of Simon [Cowell], he’s not going to let them make me do it and they will feed me. I thought, do good TV and then they will feed you.’ Rylan Clark responded with humor, saying, ‘I love it, so you thought, “I’ll go in the jungle, I’ll do my bit for the camera and then they will give me a McDonalds at the end of it”.’
Sinitta added, ‘And no, nothing, you really have to go collect your water, you really have to sleep outside with things running over your sleeping bag.’ This experience taught her that the show was indeed real, and the challenges were genuine.

New Challenges and Decisions
When asked about her hopes for the new series, Sinitta mentioned that she had discussed with the producers what she was willing and unwilling to do. She noted that, as an older participant, the producers had to be more careful with her. However, she admitted that the producers’ promises did not always hold true.
‘I told [the producers] what I wouldn’t do and what I would do. You have these long interviews, I’m older now, they have to be careful with me now because I’m older, but no. I believed them because I was really hesitating,’ she said.
Sinitta also joked about her attempts to get selected for trials, stating, ‘I did trials and nobody considered I was best for it, but they have to let you do something, sometime.’
