Her openness was highlighted on the In Recovery Ark House Rehab podcast, detailing her life-altering shift. “I had a spiritual awakening – really it’s just like I was waiting for this my whole life [going sober],” she explained.

The Impact of Clarity and Spiritual Faith
Jonsson believes recovery principles should be integrated into school curricula. She actively shares these insights with her children, recognising their power to shape perspectives.
“I went from not wanting to live to now wanting to squeeze every moment out of my life,” she admitted. The programme filled a spiritual void she hadn’t realised existed, providing a framework for life’s challenges.
The Unravelling: When the Public Persona Faded
Jonsson shed light on the rapid deterioration of her situation. “The public saw someone in control of their life. There was this battle between the public me and private me,” she confessed.
While lockdown offered a seemingly hedonistic escape, the consequences became undeniable. The speed of her escalation caught her by surprise, masking a deeper, more dangerous truth.

The Wake-Up Call: A Friend’s Devastating Truth
The path to recovery was catalysed by brutal honesty from a close friend. Speaking on Spencer Matthews’ podcast, she recounted the devastating conversation that forced her to confront her addiction.

“She said, ‘This is coming from a place of love, but you need help.'” The gravity of her friend’s concern was impossible to dismiss. This pivotal moment in June 2024 is credited by Jonsson with saving her life.
