Quadruple Amputee Cornhole Star Arrested for Murder: Ex-Girlfriend Claims ‘Angry Dark Side’
The recent arrest of Dayton Webber, a 27-year-old professional cornhole player and quadruple amputee, on charges of murder has sent shockwaves through his community. However, for one of his former girlfriends, the news, while disturbing, was not entirely unexpected. Webber was taken into custody after allegedly fatally shooting his passenger, 27-year-old Bradrick Michael Wells, while travelling in his Tesla SUV in La Plata, Maryland, last Sunday.
Authorities believe that Webber fled the scene with Wells still inside the vehicle. Wells’s body was subsequently discovered in a yard in Charlotte Hall. The cornhole personality was apprehended by law enforcement at a hospital in Virginia and is now facing serious charges, including first and second-degree murder.
The accusations against Webber are particularly jarring given his physical condition. He lost all four limbs as an infant due to a severe blood infection that led to sepsis. This fact has understandably led to disbelief and confusion among many who know him.
However, according to his ex-girlfriend, Tori Mattingly, Webber possesses an “angry dark side” that has remained hidden from most people. Mattingly, who dated Webber for four years before their split in February 2025, revealed to TMZ that their relationship began as a friendship. It’s worth noting that after their breakup, Mattingly also became romantically involved with the alleged victim, Bradrick Michael Wells.
A History of Outbursts and Refusal to Seek Help
Mattingly claims that during their time together, Webber would frequently “lash out” during intense fits of anger. She expressed that she repeatedly urged him to seek professional help for his anger management issues, but he consistently refused. Ultimately, their relationship ended because, as Mattingly explained, Webber was unwilling to address his behavioural problems and change his ways.
To illustrate her claims, Webber’s ex-girlfriend shared a video with TMZ that captured him screaming at her over her refusal to let him use her car. In the clip, Webber can be heard repeatedly yelling, “I asked you to get off my property!” This incident, among others, has led Mattingly to state that she is “isn’t surprised” by the murder allegations leveled against her former partner.
Public Condemnation of Sympathy
Mattingly also took to Facebook to voice her strong feelings regarding the public’s reaction to Webber’s arrest, specifically targeting those who have expressed sympathy for him. In an emotional post, she wrote:
Watching people say “this doesn’t sound like him” or “he would never do that” is honestly sickening.
You didn’t live with him. I did.
For four years, I saw the side of him that nobody else wanted to believe existed. The anger. The control. The abuse. The kind of darkness you don’t just “mistake.” The kind that makes you feel unsafe in your own home, in your own skin.
So no… I’m not shocked he’s being convicted of murder. Because I know what he’s capable of. I lived it. Every single day.
Details Emerge from Charging Documents
Earlier this week, reports from the Daily Mail shed further light on the alleged crime. It is claimed that Webber shot Wells twice in the head before reportedly asking witnesses to assist him in disposing of the body.
Webber has since been formally charged with first and second-degree murder. Prosecutors have stated that his actions were “feloniously, willfully and with deliberately premeditated malice.” Additionally, Webber faces a firearms charge for the alleged use of a weapon in the commission of a felony.
Shocking details contained within the charging documents, obtained by the Daily Mail, provide a grim account of the fatal confrontation that occurred in La Plata on Sunday. According to the statement of charges filed by Detective Mark Bigelow of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Webber had picked up two individuals from their workplaces and brought them to the back seat of his white Tesla. Bradrick Michael Wells was already seated in the front passenger seat at this time.
A Heated Argument and a Violent Confrontation
The journey quickly turned volatile as a “heated argument” erupted between Webber and Wells. Detective Bigelow’s statement details the tragic turn of events:
‘During the argument, Webber pulled a gun out and shot the victim twice in the head.’
Following the shooting, Webber allegedly pulled the vehicle over. He then reportedly asked his two passengers, identified in the statement as ‘W1’ and ‘W2’, to help him remove Wells from the vehicle. Both witnesses, however, refused his request. Subsequently, the two passengers fled the car, and Webber drove away with Wells still inside.
Wells’s body was later discovered in a yard located on Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Webber was eventually located at a hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, and is currently awaiting extradition back to Charles County, Maryland, to face the charges.
