Sarah Ferguson and the Controversial Corgi Cloning Rumors
Recent reports have sparked a flurry of speculation about Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, and her alleged plans to clone the late Queen’s beloved Corgis. According to claims circulating in the media, Fergie was reportedly discussing with Hollywood producers the idea of selling genetically replicated Corgis to dog lovers around the world. This concept has raised eyebrows due to the controversial nature of pet cloning, which some experts and animal welfare campaigners argue can lead to genetic abnormalities and ethical concerns.
Ferguson, who has denied these allegations, was given responsibility for caring for Queen Elizabeth II’s Corgis, Muick and Sandy, following the late monarch’s passing in September 2022. It is said that just eight months later, she engaged in discussions with US-based TV company Halcyon Studios about monetizing the dogs. A source told the outlet, “She was pushing to get back into TV and make some money. She came up with the idea of featuring the Queen’s corgis in a show. And that included the idea of breeding them. Bizarre as it sounds, the idea of cloning them was discussed.”
The Proposed TV Show Concept

The proposed show reportedly involved Zoom meetings and email exchanges between Fergie and studio executives. A synopsis for the show was allegedly drafted, which described Fergie embarking on a bold and controversial business venture—cloning the royal pups. The synopsis suggested that Fergie would navigate the complex world of genetics and royal protocol while also dealing with personal demons and strained relationships within the royal family.
The cloning process involves taking DNA from adult cells and inserting it into an egg that has had its own genetic material removed. This new embryo is then grown in a surrogate to produce a genetic copy of the original animal.
Animal Welfare Concerns

However, animal welfare campaigners have raised concerns about the ethical implications of cloning. They argue that the process involves surgery on three dogs—the DNA donor, the egg donor, and the surrogate mother. The RSPCA has also expressed concerns, stating that cloning can be painful for animals and may cause genetic abnormalities.
While commercial pet cloning is banned in the UK, it is not illegal to take skin samples here and ship them to the US. The reported synopsis for Fergie’s show appears to acknowledge the controversy surrounding the cloning format, highlighting the challenges Fergie might face in the world of genetics and cloning.
Fergie’s Denial and Other Rumors

In response to the allegations, a spokesman for Ms. Ferguson stated, “Sarah Ferguson never progressed any discussions with Halcyon Studios, which were engineered by others, and withdrew from them of her own accord. She listens to TV proposals all the time but that doesn’t mean she is going to go through with them.” The statement emphasized that Fergie never intended to monetize the Corgis and that any resulting show would not focus solely on the dogs.
Fergie has also been the subject of other rumors, including reports that she was offered a six-figure deal from US television networks to “expose all” about Jeffrey Epstein. Emails between Fergie and Epstein have resurfaced, revealing a close relationship that has drawn public scrutiny. In one message, Fergie thanked Epstein for being “the brother I have always wished for.”
Fergie’s Recent Activities

Fergie has been keeping a low profile since the release of the Epstein files last year, which revealed her closer ties to the disgraced financier than previously thought. She checked into an exclusive wellness retreat in Zurich, Switzerland, and has not been seen in public since her granddaughter’s christening. However, there are rumors that she may be considering a tell-all television interview in the US.
Sources suggest that Fergie and her team have received significant bids from US channels, as well as conversations with networks in the UK and Gulf states. A source told The Sun, “Sarah and her team have had offers from all over the world for a sit-down. So she’s thinking things over very carefully.” The potential interview could be pivotal for Fergie in terms of salvaging her reputation and clarifying her knowledge of Epstein’s actions.
