Joe Rogan Slams Trump Administration’s Handling of Epstein Files Amidst Public Outrage
Podcaster and MMA commentator Joe Rogan has launched a scathing critique of the Trump administration’s response to the Jeffrey Epstein files, particularly President Trump’s repeated claims that the ongoing revelations are a “hoax.” Rogan’s remarks came in the wake of a substantial release of documents by the Department of Justice (DOJ), which he argues paints a grim picture for the current administration.
“None of this is good for this administration. It looks f* terrible,” Rogan stated during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience*. He directly challenged Trump’s assertions, adding, “It looks terrible for Trump, when he was saying that none of this was real, this is all a hoax. This is not a hoax.”
The latest tranche of documents, unveiled by the DOJ on January 30th, comprises over three million files, including a staggering 180,000 images and 2,000 videos. However, many crucial details pertaining to Epstein’s alleged co-conspirators remain heavily redacted, fuelling public frustration and suspicion.
Under pressure from a bipartisan group of lawmakers, including Republican Representative Thomas Massie and Democratic Representative Ro Khanna, the DOJ has begun unredacting the names of at least six prominent individuals. Among those identified is Emirati billionaire Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
The released files have exposed years of correspondence between Epstein and bin Sulayem, reportedly discussing sexual matters and sharing links to fetish websites. One particularly disturbing email cited in the documents purportedly shows Epstein telling bin Sulayem that he “loved the torture video.” It’s important to note that inclusion in these files does not inherently imply wrongdoing, and bin Sulayem has not been charged with any crime in relation to Epstein. Searches indicate his name appears more than 5,000 times within the documents.
Rogan expressed his disbelief and anger at the redactions, questioning the rationale behind selectively obscuring names. “What the f*** man?” he exclaimed, reacting to the exchange with bin Sulayem. “And why is his name redacted? Why would your name be redacted if you’re not a victim? Like, this is what’s crazy about all this. How come you redact some people and you don’t redact other people? Like, what is this? This is not good.”
A Complex Relationship with Trump and Growing Disapproval
Joe Rogan’s relationship with Donald Trump has been notably complex. While he has been critical of Trump on certain issues, he also hosted the former president on his podcast during the 2024 presidential election campaign. However, in recent months, Rogan has become increasingly vocal in his disapproval of specific policy areas, including the federal authorities’ stringent approach to immigration.
Despite his criticisms, Rogan appeared to offer a degree of leniency towards the President’s potential knowledge of the situation, suggesting a possibility of plausible deniability. “Maybe he didn’t know, if you want to be charitable, but this is definitely not a hoax,” Rogan stated. He continued to press on the issue of redactions, questioning the DOJ’s motives: “And if you’ve redacted people’s names and these people aren’t victims, you’re not protecting the victim. So what are you doing? And how come all this s*** is not released?”
Bipartisan Outrage and Congressional Access
The extensive redactions have ignited significant anger across the political spectrum. In response to this widespread outcry, the DOJ has announced that members of Congress will be granted in-person access to the fully unredacted files. Lawmakers from both major parties have been reviewing these sensitive documents since they became available earlier in the week.
Notable figures who have reportedly visited the DOJ to examine the remaining files via a secure terminal include Democratic Congressmen Jamie Raskin, Ro Khanna, and Republican Congressman Thomas Massie.
Reports from these lawmakers have shed further light on the gravity of the situation. According to Representative Raskin, one of Epstein’s victims was as young as nine years old. Representative Massie indicated that the files he reviewed suggest the alleged involvement of a senior official from a foreign government in Epstein’s sex trafficking network.
The ongoing release and review of these documents continue to expose disturbing details and raise critical questions about accountability and transparency surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s illicit activities and the individuals who may have been complicit. The public’s demand for full disclosure and justice remains a powerful force in this unfolding narrative.
