Josie Gibson Shares Her Journey Following Brachioplasty Surgery
Josie Gibson, a well-known TV presenter, has been sharing her experience and progress after undergoing brachioplasty surgery. One week after the procedure, she is on the road to recovery and has been open about her journey with her followers.
Josie suffers from lipodema, a condition that causes abnormal and symmetrical fat buildup in the legs and sometimes arms. This condition can lead to pain, swelling, and easy bruising, which often affects daily activities and self-esteem. As a mother to a seven-year-old son named Reggie, Josie wanted to take steps to improve her quality of life and feel more confident in her own skin.
In an update to her followers, Josie shared details about the surgery. “I’ve just had about 20 messages asking how I am, so I’m so sorry I didn’t want to alarm anybody. I went in to see Paul Tulley last Friday for brachioplasty,” she said. She clarified that there was nothing wrong with her health-wise, and she is actually doing very well.
“Brachioplasty is a procedure where you have liposuction on your arms, and then an arm lift. This is because the lipoedema is on my arms as well,” she explained. The surgery involved removing 45 per cent of her arm, which she described as a significant change but one she felt was necessary for her confidence and comfort.

Josie spoke about the motivation behind her decision. “I just felt gross whenever I was in like a vest top, and I just wanna go out in the summer and feel alright when I put a vest top on.” She also mentioned the challenges of dealing with her genetics, which often made it difficult to feel at ease in certain situations.
“I went in last Friday, I’ve had 45 per cent of my arm removed, I’ve got my bandages on, and that just keeps your arm all intact. But I’m very lucky, I’m quite a fast healer, so the only thing that has been annoying about it, there’s been no pain, I’ve had no pain at all, but it just stopped me in my tracks.”

She added that the surgery has affected her daily routine. “And those who know me know I am so busy, I’m always doing something, and this has really stopped me in my tracks. Like even putting the bins out, just you can’t do, so, but otherwise I’m so glad I’ve had it done.”
Josie is looking forward to the next step in her recovery. “I am going into London at the end of next week to have my bandages off, and I’ll do a little video for you.” She also mentioned that she feels great one week after the surgery, despite the significant changes to her body.

Expressing her gratitude, Josie thanked her surgeon, Paul Tulley, and his team. “Paul Tulley and his team were amazing. I felt really relaxed because I was nervous about this one, but they’ve been incredible.”
Her openness about her journey has resonated with many, and she continues to inspire others with her courage and determination. As she moves forward in her recovery, Josie remains focused on feeling confident and comfortable in her own skin.
