Tragedy on Fairmont Road: Teenager Dies After Scooter Collision, Two Arrested
A devastating incident unfolded on Fairmont Road in Grimsby, culminating in the tragic death of a 13-year-old boy. The young cyclist was struck by a white Seat Ibiza on Tuesday evening and, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, succumbed to his injuries on Friday. In the wake of the collision, Humberside Police have made two arrests as their investigation into the circumstances continues.
The collision occurred around 6pm on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026. Initial reports indicate that the white Seat Ibiza was travelling along Fairmont Road when it is believed to have collided with the 13-year-old boy, who was reportedly riding a scooter across the road.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene without delay. The injured boy was immediately transported to a nearby hospital to receive urgent medical attention for what were described as life-threatening injuries. Tragically, despite days of dedicated care from the medical team, the teenager passed away on Friday evening, March 27th.

Following the incident, Humberside Police launched an investigation. As part of their initial inquiries, officers arrested an 18-year-old man. He was taken into custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and also on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Furthermore, a 41-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the investigation. He was detained on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both men have since been released from custody but remain under investigation as the police continue to gather evidence and establish the full sequence of events.
